Installation in Public Space | Zemo Nikozi | Giorgia | Since October 2016

Zemo Nikozi is a village in Giorgia directly at the demarcation line to South Ossetia, which was particularly hard hit during the war in 2008. The intervention in Zemo Nikozi was realised thanks to the project OFF/LINE of the Art as Foundation which is asking the question what art can do in the specific situation between gradual post-war rehabilitation and a frozen conflict.

The intervention is based on daily journeys tracing the animals living in the village. Animals are an important economical source for the inhabitants and define a big part of the daily routine and life. The project mirrors the gaze of the animal back to the villagers. The time it was installed there were elections coming up. Therefore the animal-wallpapers were attached aside from the political campaign-wallpapers.
