oilpaintings on wood | various dimensions | ongoing series since 2025

Based on a true story, 240811 uses painting as a way of remembering. On the night of August 11, 2024, Benjamin Egger was approached by a beaver while floating down the River Limmat in Zurich. Carried by the current, he suddenly felt two hands on his belly and met the beaver’s gaze in a long, quiet moment. The paintings reactivate this bodily memory through repetition while also transforming the encounter into an anchor for rethinking Wilderness within the artist’s body.
